THAILAND VISA APPLICATION

TOURIST VISA
  1. Tourist visa is not required for citizens of United States for a stay up to 30 days.
  2. Original, signed United States of America passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
  3. Passport-type photographs: 2
  4. Copy of round trip tickets or itinerary (Applicant’s name must be on itinerary)
  5. Copy of the applicant’s most recent monthly bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds ($700 per person or $1500 per family). The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement.

Additional required documents for minors (under 20):
Birth certificate. A notarized copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
     Letter of consent. A notarized letter of consent signed by both parents, specifying who will be traveling with the child and authorizing the Consulate to issue a visa to the child.
     Parents’ passport copies. A notarized copy of the information pages of both parents’ valid, signed passports.
     Marriage certificate. A notarized copy of parents’ marriage certificate (if applicable).

All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations, certified by an Embassy.
Applicants applying for multiple entry
     Sufficient funds. Applicants must provide a bank statement from each of the last 6 months showing a constant $7,000 balance every month.
     Hotel Reservations. Copy of confirmed hotel reservations (Applicant’s name must be on Hotel Reservation).
     Proof of Employment. Copy of a letter from your employer on business letterhead, with contact details, stating that a leave of absence has been granted, purpose and duration of the trip, and that you will be returning to your current job. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. For students, please submit an official letter from your school indicating that you are in good standing and that you are registered for the upcoming semester. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund.

Thailand tourist visas are valid for entry within 90 or 180 days from the date the visa is issued, the duration of stay of each visit is limited to sixty (60) days or otherwise as allowed by the Thai Immigration Officer upon arrival at the Kingdom of Thailand.

BUSINESS VISA

  4. Copy of the applicant’s most recent monthly bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds ($700 per person or $1500 per family). The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement.
  5. For stays over 15 days, a letter of approval from the Ministry of Labor. To obtain this letter, the company in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor, or at the Provincial Employment Office in his or her respective province.
  6. A business letter from the sending company in the US. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Thailand, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Thailand.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa). For multiple entry requests, specify dates of at least two upcoming visits.
    • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.
  7. A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Thailand. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Thailand, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Thailand.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).

For multiple entry requests, specify dates of at least two upcoming visits.
