INDIA VISA APPLICATION

TOURIST VISA
  3. Original, signed United States of America passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity. MUST contain at least two blank visa pages in order for the visa to be issued.
  4. Passport-type photograph: 1. Applicant must not wear glasses in their photographs.
  5. Driver’s license. Copy of driver’s license or state issued ID, or ORIGINAL major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) for the most recent month, showing the applicant’s name and current address. Former citizens of India
Former Indian Nationals that have been Naturalized must provide copy of stamped Renunciation Form or Deemed Surrender Certificate in order to apply.
     • Completed and signed Renunciation Form or Deemed Surrender Certificate.
     • Copy of Naturalization certificate.
     • Either the original Indian passport if you have it or a copy of your Indian passport if you do not have it.
     • For a child 5 years and older, signatures of the child and BOTH PARENTS are required.
     • For child less than 5 years of age thumb impression of the minor child and signatures of BOTH PARENTS are mandatory.

      • Marriage Certificate A copy of the Marriage Certificate if name has changed as a result of marriage.
Additional required documents for minors (under 18)
     • Application form. The minor must sign or print his or her name in the signature box under the photograph on page one. Minors that are too young to print their name should have their thumbprint stamped into the box in blue or black ink. The second page of the application form must be signed by both parents and the signatures must be NOTARIZED.
     • Birth certificate. A photocopy of the applicant’s birth certificate. The birth certificate must be the “long form” certificate which shows the names and nationalities of the applicant’s parents. Applicants born outside of the US who cannot obtain a copy of their birth certificate may submit a copy of an official document issued by Government authorities, provided it shows their personal particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality. Foreign language documents must be accompanied by a notarized English translation.
     • Parental Authorization. A Parental Authorization for Minors form from the Indian Consulate, signed by both parents.
     • Parents’ passport copies. NOTARIZED copy of the information pages of both parents’ signed passports.
     • Parents’ driver’s licenses. NOTARIZED copy of both parents’ driver’s licenses.
Persons with Occupation Related to Media
For journalists, writers, photographers, designers, and those who work with media; regardless of purpose in India, must apply for a Journalist Visa.
Former citizens of Pakistan and Sri Lanka
At this time,MPS CANNOT assist former citizens of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in obtaining a visa to India. Applicants should contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of India to apply.

         • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.

  8. A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in India. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of India, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:

         • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
         • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in India.

CHINA VISA APPLICATION

TOURIST VISA
  2. Original, signed United States of America passport with at least 1 year validity and at least 2 consecutive blank visa pages.

  5. Copy of hotel reservations (Applicant’s name must be on Hotel Reservation).

If visiting friends or family, you must provide a letter of invitation from the host in China. The letter must be signed and should be address to the “Consulate of China, Visa Section.” The letter must contain the following information:
• Personal information of the applicant: Name, gender, date of birth, and passport details
• Details of the visit: Dates, purpose, places to visit, and places of accommodation
• Details of the inviting party: Name, address, phone number, and relationship to the applicant

You will also need to provide a copy the host’s Chinese ID(both front and back sides), or, if they are not a citizen of China, copies of their China residence permit and their national passport’s information pages.
Also, if visiting family member who is working in China, a letter from the Chinese company (on company letterhead) confirming the worker’s status in China and stating that he/she will be responsible for the family members’ living arrangements and expenses.

If your travel is being organized by a tour group in China, an official signed and stamped Invitation Letter for Tourist issued by Duly Authorized Tourism Unit in China can be used in place of the hotel reservation.
Additional required documents for minors
• Application form. The application form must be signed by both parents.
• Birth certificate. A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
• Parents’ passport copies. A copy of the information pages of both parents’ signed passports.

When applying for a child with Chinese parents, the applicant must also provide proof of parents’ status in the United States.
Additional requirements for applicants born in China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan
• Chinese name. The applicant’s name written in Chinese characters.
• Proof of name change. If the applicant’s name has changed since birth, please provide a copy of the court order or marriage certificate showing the name change.
• Previous visa. Copy of a previously issued Chinese visa or copy of the information page from your Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwanese passport. Note: If your old passport has not been canceled, you will be required to submit the original passport with your application.
Additional requirements for Chinese applicants adopted by American parents
• Chinese passport. Applicant’s ORIGINAL Chinese passport.
• Proof of name change. If the applicant’s name has changed since birth, please provide a copy of the court order or marriage certificate showing the name change.
• Parents’ passports. Clear passport information page copies of both American parents.
• Certificate of adoption. A notarized certificate of adoption.
• Birth certificate. A copy of applicant’s birth certificate (usually from U.S).
Information for persons of Tibetan origin
You must make a personal appearance at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center to process your visa if you are a person of Tibetan origin. The Visa Application Service Center will require additional documents in order to process your visa and MPS is unable to assist in these procedures.
Persons with Occupation Related to Media
If you are a media professional or employed by a media company, even if you are not traveling for business purposes, you must submit a letter from your employer on company letterhead indicating that you are not traveling on company business and will not be performing any media related work.

Chinese tourist visas may be issued with a max stay of up to 90 days. The actual duration is at the discretion of the Chinese Consulate.

Visa type and validity depend on the length of stay requested in the admission letter.
 • Applicants studying for less than 6 months will be issued Type X2 visas valid for up to 6 months.
• Applicants studying for longer than 6 months will be issued a single entry Type X1 visa valid for 3 months. Once arriving at the school, these applicants will apply for a residency permit.
